Church Governance
The governing body of the Congregational Church of Wells, in whom final authority resides, is the membership sitting together in congregational meeting. We believe in the freedom and responsibility of the individual soul and the right to private judgment. The government of the Church is vested in the body of believers (members) who compose it. It is subject to the control of no other ecclesiastical body.
Officers are elected and boards and committees are established to carry out the everyday work of the Church.
