AnnouncementsBattle of the Bands – Silent AuctionMark your calendars for Saturday, March 13th and join us for a wonderful evening of awesome entertainment. Show your support for our young and "older" talented participants. This is a fun event for all. There will be a silent auction before and after the concert. Make your bids and you may leave the church with a huge bargain! If you wish to donate to the auction, you can lave your merchandise at the office during the week (no earlier than 3/8), or bring your item to Fellowship Hall on the 13th. There will be folks staffing the hall all day. All monies made during this event go to the youth of our church. We need ALL of you to make this a success. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Simply Soup Our mid-week Lenten series continues through March 24th. Attendees are invited to bring two cans of soups – one for our common meal, served at 6PM, and one for the food pantry. Please join us! * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * The 10th Annual Women's Communion Breakfast Saturday, March 27th at 9AM in Fellowship Hall. Our guest speaker this year will be the Rev. Diane W3ndorf, Pastor at North Parish Congregational Church in Sanford. After the service we will have breakfast, served by some of the gentlemen of our church. As has been our custom, an offering will be taken during the service. Rev. Wendorf has requested the funds be used toward earthquake relief in Haiti. The breakfast is free, but a signup sheet in Fellowship Hall will be posted so we will kow how many to plan for. Each year this event has grown in attendance. Please come join us and bring a friend or two. For more information please contact Margi Rasche, Donna Berg, or Marlyn Darling. Please note that there will be no Women's Fellowship meeting this month. We look forward to seeing you on the 27th! * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Men Needed There is a sign-up sheet in Fellowship Hall for men interested in preparing/serving/setting up the Women's Communion Breakfast (March 27th @ 9AM). Over seventy shawls have been distributed for those in need of the comfort and healing that is received from them. At the onset of this ministry, a number of people signed up to knit/crochet these shawls – paying for the yarn themselves as well as giving their time. Right now, those volunteers have dwindled down in number. There are varying reasons for this; one being the cost of the yarn which has gone up considerable this past year. The average cost for one shawl is between $15.00 and $18.00. It would be greatly appreciated if anyone who does not do handwork would be willing to donate any amount to ensure that the ministry will continue. The Board of Mission and Service does not want to see this program abandoned. For anyone who would care to take part in making a shawl or two, instructions can be obtained from Sybil Dupuis. The working group meets on the second Friday of each month, in the Ladies Parlor at 10:30AM. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Food Pantry Our food pantry donations go to St. Mary’s Church. The items they most need, all the time are: ketchup, mayonnaise, mustard, hash, pancake syrup, dish soap, shampoo, laundry detergent crackers, and chowder. However, any items are most welcome. These may be place on the shelves at the back of Fellowship Hall. Thank you for your generosity. Sharing is caring! * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
